Deer hunting is the most popular form of hunting in America. Yet the practice and tradition remains complex to newcomers.

That is the premise of “Whitetail 101,” a new instructional video series from the Outdoor Sportsman Group. It’s free to view at http://www.whitetail-101.com.

In 20 episodes, a viewer can learn soup-to-nuts how to become a deer hunter.

The educational series covers the full deer hunting experience. Topics include licensing, equipment selection, scouting, in-field strategies, safety, game recovery, tagging, field dressing, and taxidermy.

“Our mission is simple,” said Michael Cassidy of Outdoor Sportsman Group. “We want to break down the barriers that prevent new hunters from accessing the pursuit of deer hunting.”

The series is hosted by Blake Garlock, an editor at North American Whitetail. Garlock draws on his field experience to share insights and guidance tailored to beginners.

The series is presented by Benchmade and backed by sponsors including Spypoint, Polaris, Nosler, Riton, Savage, Bowtech, and Excalibur.

“Deer hunting is one of the most exciting outdoor experiences, but getting started can feel overwhelming for newcomers,” Cassidy said. “We will provide clear, practical advice that helps make hunting accessible to everyone.”
