About This Lease
The Rabbit Creek Cooperative Wildlife Managment Unit (CWMU) is east of Bear Lake ten (10) km. Lake Ridge runs north too south on the eastside of the unit, ranging from 7200 feet in the north to 7000 feet in the south. Most elevation slope from this ridge to the east and west. On the east the unit bounday is 6800 feet in the north and 6400 feet in the south. Rabbit Creek cuts the CWMU starting in the west (7000 feet) and exiting in the southeast at 6400 feet. Elevation on the Wood Canyon CWMU ranges betwenn 6400 and 7200 feet a difference of 800 feet. The most common elevation on the CWMU is 6800 feet. On the Rabbit Creek Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit (CWMU) forty-four percent (44%) of the land cover is Inter-Mountian Basins Montane Sagebrush Steppe (62), twenty-four percent (24%); Agriculture (114), eighteen percent (18%); Inter-Mountain Basins Big Sagebrush Steppe (66), and twelve percent (12%) is Inter-Mountain Basins Big Sagebrush Shrubland (48). One of the Rabbit Creek Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit's (CWMU) nearest weather stations, LAKETOWN (424856), is about 16.7 km southwest from the northeast edge of the CWMU. LAKETOWN has one hundred nine (109) years of records, 1900 - 2009. During the FALL (September, October and November) the average precipitation is 3.19 inches, but it can be as high as 6.53 inches or as low as 1.75 inches. During the 91-day FALL period, 15 days will experience greater than or equal to 0.01 inch of precipitation, 9 days of greater than or equal to 0.10 inch, or 2 days of the greater than or equal to 0.50 inch of precipitation. There can also be one day of precipitation of 1.0 inch. Snowfall during the FALL averages 8.3 inches but can be as high as 35.0 inches. FALL temperature at LAKETOWN averages 44.2 degrees F. but can be as high as 90.0 degrees F. or as low as -17.0 degrees F. During the FALL, 53 days will be below freezing (32 degrees F.) and 0 days above 90 degrees F.
