I'm a landowner / guide offering semi-guided bear & deer combo hunts (during their respective seasons) on private property that backs up to 200,000 acres of Virginia's Shenandoah National Park (a no hunting refuge) in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Rappahannock County, VA. The property isn't hunted much & has w/ some really big bears & powerful bucks. Hunts are all inclusive w/ food & lodging provided or you can save $ & drive in/out each day if you prefer. The lodge is a modern 2,000+ sq. ft. log cabin w/ Stainless Steel appliances & all the amenities (power, water, phone/internet, TV, heat/AC, washer/dryer, granite counter-tops, back-up generator, etc.) & you can relax on couches in front of a roaring hot fire in the wood burning stove when you return from hunting. Delicious home cooked meals & nice local restaurants (on us) if we go out. Hunts are conducted sitting in comfortable double ladder stands, tripod / swivel stands, & portable hang-on tree stands (still hunting) in the woods over food plots, game trails, funnels, draws, & travel corridors. If you prefer not to use one of our tree stands, you can bring a climber to hunt out of or sit on a rock outcropping or hillside overlooking these areas. You can hunt w/ your weapon of choice (bow, crossbow, muzzleloader, rifle, shotgun, or pistol) when the respective season is in. This is a 100% fair-chase hunt but it's an excellent opportunity to tag a nice bear or a wall-hanger buck due to our high success rate b/c of limited hunting pressure. There are some powerhouse bears & bucks on the property since the it borders the 200,000 acre National Park & there's NO hunting pressure there. I'm only taking a limited # of hunters each season - a total of 3-4 hunts w/ no more than 2 hunters per hunt for the entire season. The combo hunt is for 1 deer & 1 bear per hunter and we prefer (but don't require) that you take trophy quality animals. I'm offering a 5% multiple hunter discount for booking 2x1 hunts or a 5% discount for active duty, retired veterans, senior citizens, or children under 16 when accompanied by an adult. There is a $175/day fee for non-hunters if you're staying in the lodge/cabin. 3 day semi-guided bear/deer combo hunt w/ food & lodging - $1,800 / without food & lodging - $1,425 4 day semi-guided bear/deer combo hunt w/ food & lodging - $2,200 / without food & lodging - $1,825 5 day semi-guided bear/deer combo hunt w/ food & lodging - $2,500 / without food & lodging - $2,125 Hunts require a non-refundable 50% deposit upon contract signing to book your hunt & the balance paid in full prior to the hunt. With that being said, if something comes up & you can't make it, I'll do my best to fit you in later in the season.
