Rockville covers a total land area of 1002 acres. The lands are mostly forest cover (deciduous 746 acres, evergreen 25 acres), with wetlands (219 acres), agricultural lands (5 acres), and other lands (5 acres) composing the balance. Blue Pond lie within the area and covers 90 acres accessible by canoe only. Ashville Pond also lies partially within the management area, in the southeast corner, and covers 25 surface acres. Unique natural habitats, including an example of a Southern New England bog community and thick rhododendron forests, can be found along the shores of Ell Pond
