The acreage listed refers to classified timber. I own a total of 1,283 acres of agricultural land surrounding the timber, which can be accessed for retrieving game. Welcome to Turkey Heaven! I can guarantee a great time out here with plenty of room to roam. Not only will you find truckloads of morel mushrooms in these woods, but the property is also rich with artifacts, as it was the site of one of the largest Native American battles in the region. We also offer two different camping spots, one of which includes power and a fire pit. These are included in the lease. Additionally, there are hundreds of acres surrounding these hunting grounds that may be available for sale with the right offer. The price is $1,000 for the spring turkey season. The price is for the property, not per person.

The fact that I was on the property for less than 30 seconds before spotting my first bird speaks volumes—this is prime turkey habitat. Not only does it feature hundreds of acres of diverse agricultural land, but it also has mature trees for roosting, along with clear hardwood slopes lined with thick, low forb browse—more than enough to support large numbers of birds. A key indicator of a healthy flock and habitat capable of sustaining nesting and chick development is the abundance of native quail. Quail require a specific type of habitat, and every acre of these hunting grounds is absolutely packed with them. Whether you are a local making day trips to these turkey woods or bringing a camper to one of the multiple available sites, this place promises an unforgettable hunting adventure. Feel free to bring your ATVs to explore the entire property—but don’t forget a fishing pole, because the river right next to the camping spots is home to some monster catfish!
