This is a 36-acre watershed where I've had many sightings of deer, bear and turkey. This land is the head water of the Roaring Fork river, and it flows whether there's a drought or not, making it a reliable watering hole and potentially strong hunting area. Another spring is also a consistent producer. Other streams exist seasonally or after rains.
An old homestead exists near the entrance and there's an open garden area behind it but almost all of the land is wooded. Old logging roads follow the contour at various elevations. A driveway goes all the way into the interior, but is not passable by vehicle after the house.
A variety of fruit and nut trees, including chestnut, oak, beech, apple, and others provide food in a variety of locations. Several smaller hollers make up the overall watershed, providing a diversity of spaces. The national forest is very close by and untended land lays in between this parcel and the national forest, meaning animals can range easily across this parcel as part of their normal movement.
Access is possible in 2WD vehicles unless there's snow or ice. I recommend parking at the bottom of the driveway unless you have 4wd or awd. The driveway is only about 50-80' so it's not far to walk to get into the parcel. I have seen deer and bears both at high and low elevations in this parcel, so I believe this hunting ground would be worth your time.
