This is Driftless ground, the terrain that never got flattened by the glaciers and still holds the topography that makes whitetails hard to hunt and worth hunting. Steep ridges, tight valleys, and cover that funnels deer instead of scattering them. It's the same landscape that's put Wisconsin Driftless bucks in the Boone and Crockett book more times than almost anywhere else in the Midwest.
This isn't a fit for everyone, and it's not trying to be. It's built for hunters who are serious about mature deer, not just deer. The current management runs prescribed burns, native prairie seeding, oak savanna restoration, and targeted goat grazing to open the understory, paired with QDM practices that hold harvest standards high enough to let bucks reach maturity instead of getting culled early. That combination is what separates a property that produces trophy-class deer from one that just has deer on it.
Eight tree stands are already in place, roughly three seasons old and in good shape. A hunter walks into a setup that's ready, not a blank map.
A UTV is available on request from the landowner to help get a harvested deer out of the steep terrain, a real advantage on ground this rugged. A signed waiver is required to use it.
Leased to one group only, up to four hunters splitting it. Everyone in that group signs onto the same harvest standards, so the quality this property has been built toward stays protected instead of getting undone by outside pressure.
Hunter liability insurance is required to hunt this property.
For your convenience, there are several great lodging and restaurant attractions right on the edge of LaCrosse: Charmant Hotel - LaCrosse distillery - The Freight House - Lovechild
The landowner has put heart and soul into this property and it shows!
