Hunting Leases Just Got Simpler Meet HLRBO’s New LandKey Tool

The private-land access market has been slow to modernize, even as digital tools have reshaped almost every other corner of the outdoor industry. In that gap, HLRBO has emerged as the closest thing to an “Airbnb for land leasing,” growing to more than 1.5 million acres listed across all 50 states.

Founded in 2016, the company has made its ambition clear: become the dominant platform for modern, digital-first hunting access. This week, HLRBO rolled out a major upgrade called LandKey, an integrated feature that tightens up and standardizes the full land-leasing process.

The HLRBO platform has offered digital tools for years. But LandKey unifies multiple pieces into a single, structured system to handle contracts, payments, and liability end-to-end.

Click to the LandKey page. Agreements auto-generate and are executed online rather than via scattered emails. Payments move through a consolidated digital pipeline instead of multiple apps or offline arrangements. Liability coverage attaches automatically to applicable leases.

Another key addition is financing. Through a partnership with Affirm, hunters can now choose “buy now, pay later” plans instead of paying the full lease cost up front. That lowers the financial hurdle for high-quality properties while delivering secure and on-time payments to landowners.

The LandKey launch hits as demand for private land access continues to rise. Most people still rely on analog workflows. HLRBO sees an opportunity to define the standard with a streamlined system where leases follow the same structure, the same terms, and the same predictable process every time.

LandKey doesn’t reinvent HLRBO’s platform, but it strengthens it in a way that positions the company for a new era of growth. With a goal of reaching 10,000 active leases next year, HLRBO is betting that features like LandKey will push the leasing landscape into a new, digital-first phase.
