The 2,400-acre Hatchery WMA, owned by Santee Cooper, primarily consists of a series of islands and shallow water habitats on the southwest shores of Lake Moultrie, off of Hwy 6 outside of Moncks Corner in Berkeley County. This area is open to the general public for waterfowl hunting on Saturday mornings only during the waterfowl season and until sunset on the last Saturday of the regular waterfowl season. A boat landing is available for launching boats. Hunters may not enter Hatchery WMA prior to 3:00 AM and must leave the area by 1:00 PM (except on the last Saturday of the regular season).
