Brewster County is in the heart of the Trans-Pecos region of Texas, home to a variety of big game species, including desert mule deer, pronghorn, desert bighorn sheep, white-tailed deer, elk, feral hog and javalina as well as several species of exotics, such as aoudad, axis deer, and blackbuck antelope. Mule deer and javalina are the most prevalent. Game birds include dove and quail.
