The next morning the client will be picked up and if there are any things for the client to buy in town they can get it at this time. We then head to Bear camp. The Black Bear hunting camp is 2 1/2 hours Northwest of Fort McMurray by truck . Then 1/2 hour by ATV'S to camp. The camp has 5 wall tents, 2 tents for clients to sleep in, 2 for staff and 1 for cooking and eating. The camp also has an outdoor toilet and a shower stall with a gravity feed bag that we put hot water into. All tents have wooden floors, wood burning stove, lights, power and beds are wooden with a 4 inch foam mattress with a warm sleeping bag and a pillow. All Meals are made fresh each day. Home cooked meals!! Outdoor fire pit to tell stories while enjoying a drink and friendship. Or play a song on the guitar around the fire. Hunting is done by using the atv's and trucks. To get in areas of the tree stands, each bait has 2 drums and the shooting range 30 -40 yards. We have boats on lakes for watching the shoreline on calling the bull moose to the lake. To hunt the areas off the lake shore we will use ATV's more remote areas. The guide will call like a Cow Moose looking for a Bull Moose to mate with. We only have 1 Date for this hunt so the client is hunting for their Trophy of a like time. Durn the full time when the rut is going on. The camps are wall tents with wooden floors, wood burning stove, lights, power and wooden bed with a 4 inch foam mattress, warm sleeping bag and pillow. There is an outdoor toilet and a shower with a gravity bag that we put hot water into the bag. All meals are home cooked fresh each day by your guide. At all the Moose hunting camps if the client has a Black Bear License there will be bear baits the the area so when the client is not moose hunting , the client can sit at the tree stand and shoot Black Bears. Legend Lake Camp Location 57 22' 47 North 112 59' 18 West At this camp is a large lake with very good fishing . It takes 2 1/2 hours Northwest of Fort McMurray by truck. Then 4 1/2 hours by ATV's to get to camp. On the way to this camp we pass 3 spike camps in key locations that the land structure holds moose in the area. As we go past the spike camps 1client and guide will stay at the camp. Then go by boat on the Athabasca River for 2 1/2 hours to the spot that the client and guide will go by ATV's for 1 hour to get to camp. This camp has 2 tents 1 for clients and 1 for the guides and for cooking. At this camp there is a very good chance to see Wood Bison ( Buffalo) the largest land animal in North America. But we can not hunt the Wood Bison (Buffalo) at this camp. At this camp 2 Clients and 2 Guides Athabasca River Camp Location 57 50' 13 North 111 21' 58 West To get to this camp the clients and the guides will travel North by truck for 45 minutes. Then go by boat on the Athabasca River 2 hours to the camp along the side of the Athabasca River. The hunting at this camp is done by traveling on the river by boat, hunting the shoe line and stopping at spots to call for Bull Moose. This is for the early hunt. The client would fly into Fort McMurray. 1 night at a hotel . Then the next morning drive up the ice road to camp for 10 hours. This is the late hunt. This camp is set up for cold weather hunting. The wall tent is encased by tarps, wooden floor, wood burning stove for heat , lights,power and a bed made of wood with a 4 inch foam mattress and a pillow with a sleeping bag that is very warm. The hunting is done by spotting and stocking the Wood Bison (Buffalo). There are large natural fields in the area and thi is where the Buffalo feed. We move around by Snowmobile or ATV or walking right from camp. Timber Wolf hunting is done by sighting the Wolves will looking for Buffalo or over the Kills.
