500 Acres of excellent deer and antelope habitat in GMU105. This tract is part of a 2600-acre parcel listed on HLRBO (#57897). If the 2600-acres is leased as a whole parcel, then the 4 smaller tracts will be shown as “leased” and no longer available. If one of the smaller tracts is leased, then the 2600-acres will show as “leased” leaving the remaining tracts available for lease. This property has not been previously leased/hunted, which gives those looking to fill a tag a major advantage of unpressured game. There are several active pronghorn herds and numerous Whitetail that use the land. There are several hundred yards of dry erosion channels that are filled with antelope tracks and droppings. There are several tree clusters that always seem to have deer. There are coyotes, rabbits and doves that can be on the property as well.

This lease is one quarter of a larger 2600-acre lease in Kiowa, CO, (Elbert County). The smallest of the 4 tracts at 500 acres shows that big things come in small packages. The number of Antelope tracks on this portion of the property were abundant and littered the dry creek beds. Droppings and bedding spots were numerous. As I looked around for places to hide, the multiple ridgelines to the south became the obvious choice for a hunter to set up down-wind. There is lots of cover for the game to escape the elements and there is a good food/water source here. I noticed the mourning dove activity was heavy as well. There was also coyote sign for those wanting to aid in reducing their numbers.
