About This Lease
The Miner Slough Wildlife Area was designated as a wildlife area by the Fish and Game Commission in 1981. It is 37 acres with approximately 10 acres remaining above the water at high tide, making up one small island and a narrow peninsula extending from Prospect Island. It includes excellent riparian vegetation of willows, cottonwoods, tules, and blackberries. This habitat supports a variety of wildlife species, including beaver, black-crowned night heron, and a variety of shorebirds, waterfowl, and raptors. Fishing in sloughs is primarily for catfish, largemouth bass, crappie, and striped bass. For more information, call the Bay Delta Region Napa office at (707) 944-5500.
