About This Lease
The Otay Mountain Ecological Reserve is an approximately 1,200-acre property with habitat types including chamise chaparral, southern mixed chaparral, coastal sage scrub, southern interior cypress forest, riparian woodland, and oak woodland. Wildlife includes mule deer, gray fox, red-tailed hawk, and Pacific tree frog. The property was acquired to protect endangered and sensitive wildlife, native plants and special habitats, and to allow for limited hunting opportunities.
