Whispering Pines is a 150-ac all-inclusive tract of loblolly pine and hardwoods located in Chappells in Newberry County SC. Daily rates are $120 per day per hunter with up to 7 hunters maximum on property at any one time. A 14% processing fee of $17 dollars will be shown on your invoice making a total of $137 per hunter per day.
There is a full-time creek and dry creek on the property. Topography is rolling, with three high points. Owners live on property. Six (6) miles of firebreaks allow ample access to all stands (farthest stand .35 mile/629 yards from the house).
Game opportunities include deer, turkey, bobwhite quail, rabbit, squirrel, raccoon, coyote, bobcat, fox, and armadillo.
Natural food sources include American Beautyberry, Greenbrier and Poison Ivy leaves and vines that offer moisture and nutrition where deer browse leaves, stems, and berries throughout the year. Acorns (White, red, pin, and sawtooth) and acorn fragments, Hickory, Black Walnut provide mass and fat into the late season, ragweed (high protein forage), Persimmon, Muscadines, Blackberries and various wild mushrooms (minerals and moisture) all shape travel routes between cover and feeding zones. All these natural forage items are found along edges, in the timber, and disturbed food plot grounds.
Five (5) man-made food plots: Chicory, chufa, clover, cowpeas, purple top turnips, radishes, sorghum, soybean, and a southern wild mix from NWTF; Five (5) Battery Feeders dispense shell corn twice a day and with cob corn supplement.
Weapon options range from archery/crossbow, muzzle loader, rifle & shotgun (no nuclear weapons please). Stands are designed for the various weapons options (archery/shotgun 50 yds <; rifle 100 yds to 177 yds).
All clients are required to schedule a "Scouting Tour" prior to any hunting on this property. Tour takes about 2 hrs and includes visiting every stand to be uploaded in your hunting app, take pictures and get briefed on deer activity.
