We have over 400 acres of private hunting land of forest and cedar swamp with our newly constructed rustic boardwalk to water frontage. Includes a 2 bedroom cabin (sleeps 6) with a full kitchen, woodstove, hot water, electric heat, fully furnished with bedding and towels ready for your stay. 30 and 50 amp RV hookup close to the cabin(additional fee). There are numerous old & rustic and new deer blinds and lots of openings and trails that make excellent shooting lanes. Feel free to set up your own blinds. We have also added several brand new outhouses around the property. We now have a boardwalk to walk to Manistee Lake. East of our property is a large tract of public MDNR land that is primarily forested with young aspen. The upland forest was selectively harvested on our property in 2020 & 2021 and the game habitat is improved as there is more young growth. The cedar swamp is extremely wet and dense. The game on this property is wild, there are no high fences, no guided tours, and the deer were not raised on a farm. The deer usually leave the area when the snow gets deep.
700 sq. foot cabin with full kitchen, comfortably sleeps 6, 1 queen bed in one bedroom, 1 full sized and 1 queen sized bed in the other bedroom. There is a couch that could be slept on-not a pull out. Traveling with more than 6? Reach out to us about the additional accommodations available on-site, including 30 and 50 amp RV hookups (addt'l fee) and many campsites & outhouses where additional guests can bring their own gear and set up camp. We have internet and internet cell phone connection at the cabin. We are in the wilderness, so the internet is functional but not excellent. You will have reception mostly in the higher areas of the property otherwise.
We still have exclusive hunting and cabin availability during bow season, Oct 1-Nov 14, and Dec 1- 31 offered at $320 a night.
During firearm season, Nov 15-Nov 30, you can rent the cabin and hunt. This is offered at $450 a night. 3 night minimum stay.
You will need proper Michigan permitting for hunting on privately owned tracts in Kalkaska County. Kalkaska County has antler point restrictions (3 points on a side) and plenty of doe tags. Hunters must comply with Michigan State Hunting laws, be aware that Kalkaska is an antler restricted county.
No shooting at the trees, there is a range along the power line to use for distance shooting. Do not put nails or metal in the trees.
All motorized vehicles must stay on the trail system, do not spin tires or tear up the ground. The trail system was revamped in the summer of 2022 and maintained for your convenience but it is easily rutted. Please be respectful of our trails. You must drive under 10 mph on the property due to safety and insurance regulations. There are areas along the trails that have deep holes close by the trails. Watch your step around these areas. Safe, sober and responsible behavior and driving is imperative on the trails. No alcohol or drug use.
