HLRBO Reviews
I listed my property here and I had a great experience. My property was leased within 11 days. I highly recommend HLRBO.
HLRBO has done excellent in advertising my hunting leases for my illinois farm. Thanks. Heath and company
HLRBO is a tremendously useful resource for landowners and hunters. This website provides essential resources to network and negotiate hunting leases with professionalism. By listing our property, we received many serious offers from responsible hunting groups.
HLRBO promoted our listing on social media, and followed up to ensure we leased successfully. The service is outstanding. HLRBO is most definitely the premier website for hunting leases.
The staff at HLRBO was immensely helpful in helping me to navigate the site and getting my land leased! Very timely response time and all my questions were answered expeditiously! I definitely plan on using this platform next year!
The process to list my property was simple and with the auto generated template for the listing made it even easier. I was able to lease my property in less than two weeks. The team at HLRBO was there to answer all of my questions.
I submitted a lease by owner form late in the day. I was quite surprised to find two inquires by the middle of the next day, which when paraphrased asked, “Is this lease still available?”
First of all, let me say that one of the reasons I selected HLRBO was that listing a lease with them “is as easy as falling off a log”, to quote an old phrase. Simply put, there was no fee for their service, nor was there any lessor contract to sign.
At this point I need to say that I had already contacted several agencies that specialized in leasing hunting property. Setting their representation fees aside, I was more concerned about some of the aspects of their lessor contracts. Some leasing agencies may have a contract that penalizes landowners (lessors) for a number of situations such as the actions of trespassers, etc. How can landowners be responsible for actions beyond their control?
My experience is that HLRBO simply asks landowners to describe their property accurately and to respond promptly to inquiries from prospective hunters. The office staff was very helpful in answering all of my questions. There is even a sample lease, which can be customized by the landowner.
I had multiple responses to my listing and was able to lease the property in a timely manner. I plan to continue using HLRBO for any additional property that I decide to lease.
HLRBO is excellent. A great bunch of land owners and hunters/sportsmen use the site. Everyone is respectful and helpful.
They have a wide audience of hunters. I was pleased with the traffic.
Good success with HLRBO. They seem very professional and are getting a significant amount of traffic on their site. I would certainly recommend their service to anyone trying to lease land.
HLRBO made leasing my 100ac property easy and stress free. My advisor, Heath, answered all my questions, helped with establishing a price point since this was my first go at leasing, and also helped with the contract. I would highly recommend HLRBO for landowners.

There is no strict guideline to what you can charge for your hunting land. This is completely up to the landowner. Traditionally hunting leases are negotiated on a dollar per acre basis and are for all hunting types for the year. Please check out our price estimation tool.
HLRBO cannot and will not be liable for any damage to your property caused by irresponsible hunters. However, there are several ways in which you can limit your risk. First, a written agreement that puts the legal responsibility on the hunters for any damages or repairs is a must. Second, you are not under any obligation to rent or lease your property’s hunting rights to anyone that contacts you through HLRBO. You should at the very least ask them for references or even do a background check. Finally, set clear expectations of how you expect hunters to act while hunting on your property and put them in the written agreement.
HLRBO is a free service. We do not charge land owners to create a listing and we do not charge hunters to contact land owners. HLRBO does some paid services such as our Lease Finder Service.
Yes definitely. HLRBO will be happy to help you create a listing. Please contact us [email protected].
